FCBL has opened a new Distribution Warehouse at Pasakha today, in addition to the Central Warehouse in Phuentsholing, from where essential food commodities are distributed across the country, with emphasis on the western region, for the National Strategic Food Reserve (NSFR) during emergencies and price stabilization in the general market. The facility will also be used as an aggregation centre for the supply of fresh fruits and vegetables to Gyalsung Academies and to stabilize general market prices starting this year. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dasho Dungpa as the Chief Guest and attended by representatives from the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP), Immigration, Regional Office of Industry, Commerce and Employment (RoICE), Bhutan Food and Drug Authority (BFDA), Regional Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives (RAMC), and officials from ICP Pasakha, along with FCBL officials led by the officiating CEO and the Regional Director, Western Region. Strategically located near the Pasakha ICP, the facility will also ease traffic congestion in the Phuentsholing community and optimize space management at the Central Warehouse. It will also help enhance logistics efficiency, ensuring the uninterrupted supply of essential food commodities and fresh fruits and vegetables in the western region. We extend our sincere gratitude to Dasho Dungpa and relevant stakeholders (RBP, RoICE, RRCO, BFDA, and Immigration) for invaluable support and engaging with Indian counterparts to facilitate the direct entry of food vehicles through the Pasakha ICP.
