The Food Corporation of Bhutan Limited (FCBL) was honored to welcome Mr. Gaurav Ray, United Nations Resident Coordinator, and Ms. Tshering Palden from the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office in Thimphu. The visit served as an important platform to strengthen collaboration and exchange views on key development priorities. During the discussions, the Chief Executive Officer of FCBL highlighted the Corporation’s strategic focus areas, including food security, agricultural export promotion, digital transformation, and human resource development. The United Nations Resident Coordinator, representing the United Nations Resident Coordinator System, reaffirmed his commitment to facilitating support through relevant UN agencies. He also emphasized the importance of clearly defined and targeted requirements to ensure more effective assistance aligned with FCBL’s strategic objectives. As part of the programme, the delegation visited the FCBL Rice Fortification Plant in Phuentsholing, where they were briefed on ongoing operations, institutional initiatives, and efforts to strengthen national food security and nutrition systems. Rice Fortification Plant showcased FCBL’s continued commitment to improving food quality and enhancing nutritional outcomes for the population.
