The Food Corporation of Bhutan Limited (FCBL) observed its 44th Foundation Day on the 16th August 2018. It was a historic moment for the organization to celebrate its Foundation Day for the first time in the history of FCBL after 44 years of its operation. FCBL was established in 1974 through a Royal Decree issued by His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck to ensure food security for the Nation at all times.
The FCBL staff gathered in their Corporate Head Office at P/ling to pay their tribute to His Majesty the Kings and rededicate their service to Tsa-Wa-Sum. During the day, a revised website and organogram were launched by Dasho Dungpa of Phuntsholing Dunagkhag who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
As recognition for the longest dedicated services to FCBL, a certificate of appreciation with modest cash incentive was awarded to Ms. Kanak Kathia who served FCBL for the last 39 years.
Following the celebration and award, Mid-term Performance of Regional offices were reviewed and the participants deliberated on the challenges and interventions to attain the set annual target. The day concluded by agreeing henceforth to observe 16th August as the Foundation Day annually.
